Trail Less Traveled: Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting

By Jen Toscano

Trail Less Traveled Bike and Gear will be having our ribbon cutting and Grand Opening Monday, May 9, 2022, at 12:00PM. Kathleen Haff, Tuolumne County District 4 Supervisor, and the Yosemite Chamber of Commerce will host the ribbon cutting ceremonies.

Trail Less Traveled Bike and Gear is your new local bicycle shop, nestled in the heart of downtown Groveland at 18743 Main Street, between the Iron Door Saloon & Firefall Coffee and Serendipity. Our full-service bicycle shop provides bicycle sales, service and maintenance, rentals, accessories, gifts, and gear.

Join us for our grand opening weekend Friday, May 6th through Monday, May 9th. During the event, we will be offering our in-stock kids bikes at 25% off. We’ll have new Trail Less Traveled water bottles and a new t-shirt design in the shop. A portion of proceeds from sales of these items during our grand opening weekend will be donated to the local non-profit Groveland Trail Heads.

J.R. and I first came to stay in Groveland to visit friends for a much-needed weekend away, and soon after Groveland became our weekend home. It wasn’t long before we found ourselves trying to find ways to stay here just a bit longer every time. And then, after some encouragement from our friends at Around The Horn and Echo Adventure Cooperative, we set our plans in motion to move up here permanently and open Trail Less Traveled Bike and Gear.

We are beyond grateful for the support we have received from the blossoming bicycling community, local businesses, and residents of Groveland. Since moving to Groveland full-time and launching TLT with our soft opening on January 29th, we’ve had the pleasure of meeting and working with so many of you. We hope you will continue to stop by the bicycle shop often and join us as we evolve and grow. We look forward to many adventures ahead.

Over the next few months, we’ll be working hard to transform the space in front of the shop to create “The Hub” at Trail Less Traveled Bike and Gear. We will be adding bicycle racks, picnic tables, and a maintenance station so locals and visitors can enjoy bicycling to downtown Groveland and park their bicycles while they shop, eat, and play around town. It is our goal to make Trail Less Traveled a center for the bicycling community–a place for riders of all ages and disciplines to meet for group rides, gather to talk about bikes, participate in educational programs, and even grab a cup of coffee or an ice cream from one of our amazing business neighbors and hang out with some fellow bicycling enthusiasts.

We hope you will stop by. Let us know how we can best meet your cycling needs and help you find your “trail less traveled”.
