Yurts, Homes & Yonder. Free Beer Tomorrow. New Careers for Vets
It's a sterling line-up of 2022 49er Festival Silver Sponsors. As impressive as it is diverse, these five local businesses echo the wide range of businesses that make up the Yosemite Chamber’s membership and our community.
For family fun in the outdoors, Yosemite Lakes RV Resort is an authentic American RV campground with plenty of woods, water, and mountains to explore just outside your campsite, cabin, or yurt. A long-time supporter of the Yosemite Chamber of Commerce, Yosemite Lakes doesn’t rest on its laurels. They’re embarking on a number of renovation projects this year including installing a new playground, updating bathhouses, cabins, cottages, and sports amenities. Yosemite Lakes, a Thousand Trails affiliate, is donating a Two Night Stay in a Yurt for the 49er Festival’s Live Auction. Don’t miss your chance to experience yurt life!
Yurt not you? Let Yosemite Region Real Estate find you the perfect home. Rob and Tara Stone and their team of Realtors can help you downsize, upsize, or just-rightsize. If you’re wondering about the name change, the Stones have recently divested of their vacation rental business, Yosemite Region Resorts, to new owner Red Awning, who hired local resident Ryan Niedens as general manager. The Red Awning Advantage is to offer hotel-style online reservations, no security deposits, standard contracts, live reservations staff, and promising the most reservations for the least work on behalf of property owners. The two entities will continue to share the same location. Watch for news on the official ribbon cutting on October 19.
We welcome Yonder Yosemite as a first-time sponsor of the 49er Festival and thank the team for putting the Highway 120 businesses and community front-and-center when it came to sharing plans, getting feedback, and taking action. We can’t wait for the groundbreaking, and to keep everyone up to date on Yonder Yosemite’s progress as they create a beautiful new boutique lodging and outdoor experience in Big Oak Flat.
It’s still Free Beer Tomorrow at the Iron Door Saloon, and now they have their own locally-brewed beer called, you guessed it…Free Beer Tomorrow ale. It’s great to have Live Music back at The Door and the town is turning out to hear the bands. Little known fact: we’d have a tough time doing the 49er Festival Parade without the Iron Door’s fantastic sound system. Chris Loh’s background in big entertainment events and his willingness to pitch in to make the Parade a success, not to mention his kick-ass bloody marys…a 49er Festival tradition…are major assets to our community. And behind the scenes, we know Corinna keeps it all together. Look for the bushel basket full of Iron Door merch at the Silent Auction. Thanks Chris and Corinna. The Door rocks!
There’s changes underway for Festival Chili Chair and Chamber board member Bob Turney as he transitions from owning and operating Yosemite Adventure Supplies and Turnkey Construction Management Institute, Inc. simultaneously. Last week, Bob turned over Yosemite Adventure Supplies to new owner. Bob will now focus on building his already-successful online construction management school (as well as building a new home here in Groveland.)
Bob founded Turnkey Construction Management Institute (the brick-and-mortar version) in 1994 with a focus on retraining injured construction workers. Transitioning to a 100% Virtual Campus allowed Bob to decrease overhead and to offer scholarships, particularly for injured construction workers and American veterans. Turnkey Construction Management Institute, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, with plans to begin more active fundraising that will support scholarships for more vets. Thanks, Bob, for being a patriot, a darned good Parade and Festival announcer, a crackerjack shot in a gunfight reenactment, our Chief of Chili, and as always, a supporter of the Yosemite Chamber and the 49er Festival.
Many thanks to our 2022 49er Festival Silver Sponsors. They help keep the Festival free of admission fees for everyone. Y'all make Hot Chili Charlie proud!
