The 2025 tourism season is officially upon us. September 20 may seem months away, but the 49er Festival Committee and our Community Partners are already full-speed ahead planning the biggest and best Festival ever as we celebrate the past and look to the future.

Tuolumne was one of twenty-seven counties created on February 18, 1850 in one of the state’s first legislative acts. Prior to statehood, our area was informally referred to as “Oro County,” an apt name for the scattering of encampments populated by gold-seekers and the entrepreneurs who served them. Groveland (Garrote) and Big Oak Flat (Second Garrote) were small but mighty examples, attracting new settlers who eventually brought their families and applied their talents to building for the future. This year’s Festival celebrates our heritage, history, and the spirit of adventure, resilience, and fortitude at the heart of our communities today. 

By popular demand, Taste of Tuolumne will be back in 2025, offering delicious small bites and heritage recipes from all over the county for just “Tu Bucks” ($2) a Taste. Watch social media and The Weekly as we announce participating chefs and local organizations over the next few months. 

Be assured that this year’s Festival will deliver all your favorite activities: the Main Street Parade & Flyover, great local talent on the Main Stage, a Festival Raffle chockful of great prizes, a fantastic line-up of Live Auction items, fun times in the Kids Adventure Zone, a cavalcade of cool vehicles in the Auto Pavilion, lots of shopping opps, and more. And some exciting new elements that are sure to please. 

Community Partners in the 2025 49er Festival include ROOFBB Charity managing the Festival Raffle and Live Auction and Southside Community Connections co-managing the vendor marketplace. In addition, Groveland Trail Heads is rumored to be planning something fun for the kids, so don’t miss upcoming news as we roll out the 2025 Festival line-up.
